Penn Highlands Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Opens State-of-the Art Pain Management Suite

If you have ever suffered from back pain, you know how miserable this discomfort can make your life. Now, there is new relief in the Mon Valley Region for people with spinal and joint issues. Penn Highlands Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Rostraver Township recently opened a state-of-the-art pain management suite that is equipped with the Siemen’s CIOS flow digital flat detector C-Arm.

At Penn Highlands Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, the new technology is used for outpatient spinal treatments and certain joint injections. For some people who are experiencing spine or joint pain, injections using the C-Arm could be a non-surgical alternative for pain relief.

“The C-Arm provides excellent accuracy and sharp images while providing lower doses of radiation to patients,” said Anthony Cuneo, MD, PhD, a pain management physician at Penn Highlands Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, specializing in interventional spine and musculoskeletal medicine, as well as non-operative spine and sports medicine. “With a larger field of view, the unit enables us to see more anatomical details.”

Dr. Cuneo sees patients at his offices in Charleroi, Rostraver Township and Uniontown. For more information on Dr. Cuneo and his offices, visit www.phhealthcare.org/pain/.
