Welcome Patricia McNelis, PMHNP-BC, MSN-Ed, RN, CCM

Penn Highlands Healthcare welcomes psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner Patricia McNelis, PMHNP-BC, MSN-Ed, RN, CCM, to its medical staff.

Patricia joins the teams at the Behavioral Health Inpatient Adult Unit, located at 401 East Murphy Avenue in Connellsville and 1163 Country Club Road in Monongahela.

Patricia provides patients with specialized care for anxiety, depression and other behavioral health conditions that may interfere with their daily life.

Common treatments and procedures include ADD, ADHD, adjustment disorders, adjustment problems, anxiety, autism, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder (BPD), cognitive disorders, delusional thoughts, dementia, depression, developmental problems, dual diagnosis, eating disorders, hallucinations, major depressive disorder, mood disorders, psychosis, schizophrenia, stress, suicidal thoughts/actions and thought disorders.

Prior to joining Penn Highlands, Patricia practiced at International Specialty Underwriters/Companion Life in Jacksonville, Fla.; UPMC McKeesport in McKeesport; HM Insurance Group in Pittsburgh; UPMC East in Monroeville; Community College of Allegheny County in Mifflin; Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield in Pittsburgh; Gateway Health Plan in Pittsburgh; UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh; Hillman Cancer Center in Pittsburgh; Three Rivers Administrative Services in Monroeville; and UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Patricia earned her Master of Science in Nursing, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, at Wilkes University in Wilkes Barre; her Master of Science in Nursing, Nursing Education, at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Indiana, Penn.; and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Waynesburg University in Waynesburg.
