Welcome Ashley M. Shields, MPAS, PA-C

Penn Highlands Healthcare welcomes certified physician assistant Ashley M. Shields, MPAS, PA-C, to its medical staff.

Ashley joins the emergency department teams at Penn Highlands Clearfield, located at 809 Turnpike Avenue in Clearfield; Penn Highlands DuBois, located at 100 Hospital Avenue in DuBois; Penn Highlands Huntingdon, located at 1225 Warm Springs Avenue in Huntingdon; and Penn Highlands State College, located at 239 Colonnade Boulevard in State College.

From serious accidents and severe stomach pain to cardiac arrest and stroke, Ashley and the team at Penn Highlands provide expert emergency care.

Common treatments and procedures include broken bones, chest pain, difficulty breathing, loss of consciousness, severe abdominal pain, severe allergic reaction, slurred speech, stroke, uncontrolled bleeding and weakness on one side.

Prior to joining Penn Highlands, Ashley gained clinical experience at Indiana Regional Medical Center in Indiana, Penn.; Lighthorse Psychiatry in St. Mary’s, Ga.; Independence Health System in North Huntington; Independence Health System in Greensburg; Independence Health System in Butler; Heritage Valley Health System in Sewickley; Indiana Pediatric Associates in Indiana, Penn.; Tri-State Dermatology in Smithfield; Conemaugh Memorial Hospital in Johnstown; and AHN Internal Medicine in Mars.

Ashley earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and Bachelor of Science in Health Science at Seton Hill University in Greensburg. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants and American Academy of Physician Associates.
