Penn Highlands Mon Valley To Sponsor the 21st Annual Lois Orange Ducoeur Breast Cancer Walk
Gather your pink attire. Form your teams. It is time once again for the annual Lois Orange Ducoeur Breast Cancer Walk sponsored by Penn Highlands Mon Valley.
The fun-filled event will be held Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the Mon Valley HealthPlex in Rostraver Township, PA. On-site registration begins at 9:00 AM and the Walk starts at 10:00 AM.
Participants and guests can complete the Walk in the safety of an indoor track or a marked outdoor course free from motor vehicle traffic. In addition, the site provides ample space to accommodate the walkers and those attending for the festivities.
"Nearly everyone has had someone in their lives with breast cancer,” said Natalie Furgiuele, MD, FACS, a board-certified surgeon and director of the Penn Highlands Mon Valley Breast Program. "The Lois Orange Ducoeur Breast Cancer Walk is a wonderful opportunity for this region to come to gather and have some fun while raising funds for breast cancer care in this region.”
The $30 registration fee for the one-mile fun walk includes a T-shirt and supports the prevention, early detection and treatment of breast cancer in the Mon Valley region.
The Walk promises to be fun for the whole family. Participants will enjoy refreshments and music. Plus, the ever-popular Chinese Auction is back along with raffles for a beautiful Movado Rose Gold Watch from Mar-Bill Diamonds & Jewelry and a Cuisinart 3-in-1 Pizza Oven, Griddle and Grill.
