Penn Highlands Connellsville Partners with the City of Connellsville to offer COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic
The holidays are just around the corner with parties and family gatherings. Are you protected from the latest COVID-19 variants?
Penn Highlands Connellsville is partnering with the City of Connellsville to host a COVID-19 vaccine booster clinic on Friday, November 4, 2022, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The event will be held at the newly renovated East Side Fire Station located at 200 North Arch Street in Connellsville. All members of the community who need a COVID-19 booster are encouraged to attend. The walk-in clinic is open to anyone ages 12 and older including insured, uninsured and the homeless in the region.
“Our primary goal is to keep our community healthy and safe,” said John Andursky, President of Penn Highlands Connellsville. “We are offering the Bivalent vaccine, which protects against the known COVID-19 variants, so members of our community can enjoy their holiday celebrations with peace of mind.”
According to Bobbie Jo Miller, RN, who manages Infection Control and Employee Health at Penn Highlands Connellsville, anyone over the age of 12 who has received two completed doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine can receive this booster as long as two months have elapsed since their last dose of the vaccine.
“This is going to be a great event,” said Vernon E. Ohler, Connellsville City Clerk/City Manager. “We are excited to team up with Penn Highlands Connellsville to sponsor this COVID-19 booster clinic. “We applied for and received multiple grants to renovate the East Side Fire Station and we wanted this clinic to be one of the first uses of the building.”
People who attend the clinic may see some familiar faces when they arrive. Members of the Hospital Club of Connellsville and the Penn Highlands Connellsville Auxiliary will staff the welcome/registration desk. The vaccine will be administered by the Hospital’s nurse manager.
