2025 Introduction to Health Careers Course

COURSE INFORMATION HEALTHCARE CAREERS
– Talking with Professionals.

Schools Affiliated with program: The course is open to juniors and seniors at DuBois Area High School, DuBois Central Catholic, Jeff Tech and Brockway High School.

Objective: Introduce Students to Different Health Care Professionals in their work environment and allow the students the opportunity to speak directly with them. The professionals will share their thoughts with the students about the pros, cons and different aspects of their profession and when possible give a tour of the department and engage students in interactive opportunities with the equipment utilized within their department.

Meetings: The group will meet once per week for eight weeks.
Time will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesdays.

STUDENTS CAN GET REGISTRATION PACKET FROM SCHOOL GUIDANCE COUNSELORS.

Open to Juniors & Seniors. Class size is limited to 20 students.

There is NO COST for this course.

Each Area/Professional Will Provide

• Explanation of different types of patients seen
• Discussion of career opportunities & schooling
• Hands on practices and demonstrations (if able)
• Tour of the Department (if able)
